Read-a-Thon
It's time for the second annual Sabin School Foundation Read-a-thon September 28th through October 9th! The Read-a-thon benefits the Sabin School Foundation, which is a parent led non-profit that raises money to provide additional teachers for Sabin. This year the Foundation provided funds for Tracy Morgan, 1st grade EA, Sasha Luria, math specialist, and Mr. Schlotte, MYP teacher.
Your child should have already received a packet of information and forms for the Read-a-thon.
Please read through it and get your child signed up in the next week to be ready to start reading on September 28th.
The sign-up is for the online portion of the read-a-thon. For those of you who participated last year, we are using a new website called www.learn2earn.org. There is no timer on this site. You just enter the number of minutes read manually. In addition, there are critical thinking questions for the students to answer at the completion of a book. We are also including paper materials to use instead of or in addition to the online portion.
The goals for the read-a-thon are:
60,000 minutes read
$10,000 raised
If we meet these goals, 2 lucky students will be chosen to tape Mr. Dauch to the wall!
