Enriching and Enhancing Sabin School
From iPads, to Garden Education, to Library books, to a 2014 project to completely remake the north playground, our PTA is proud to be a partner in enriching and enhancing your child's education at Sabin School. Here are some of the many programs, events, activities and opportunities funded by your Sabin School PTA fundraising efforts in the last several years. The over-whelming majority of these funds come from our annual Sabin School Auction.
iPads! Everywhere!
Our 2013 Sabin School Auction Special Appeal focus was iPads in our classrooms. The Special Appeal was a rousing success, and brought in over $30,000 to purchase iPads to provide our students with 21st centurt technology in their classrooms.
iPads are more than just a cool tech tool... The ways they can be used to support and enhance student learning are endless! K-3 students are using the new iPads for curriculum such as: Reading, Math, Word Work, Science and Social Studies.

Facilities Upgrades
From the colorful play structure & Native Garden on the south playground (2004), to the 18th Ave readerboard (2009), to numerous murals and art installations, the Sabin School PTA is always looking for ways to improve the experience for all students and families.
The 2013-14 school year saw an ambitious Sabin PTA project to improve the south playground, and completely re-make of the the north playground play structure to ensure it was accessible to all Sabin students. Improving opportunities for physical play is an important step in meeting one of our primary PTA goals: Creating Healthier Schools!
Library Books!
It is no secret that reading is the foundation of academic success! A large, diverse library inventory at Sabin School is an esential component in growing young readers.
Since 2007, the Sabin School PTA has invested over $22,000 to supplement our library inventory, and foster a passion for books and knowledge within our Sabin School students. In addition to the many thosands of dollars allocated from the PTA general fund, we are proud to have supplimented our classroom library collections with hundreds of books from the Scholastic Book Warehouse, as a result of our successful Scholastic Book Fairs each year.

PE Equipment
The Sabin School PTA understands the importnace that physical education plays in educating the whole student. Physical well being of a student is directly related to his or her performance in the classroom. Research supports the importance of movement in educating both mind and body. Physical education contributes directly to development of teamwork skills, physical competence and over-all fitness.
Because fostering healthy lifestyle is one of the primary objectives of PTA, your Sabin School PTA has allocated thousands of dollars, over the last several years, to the purchase PE equipment to offer new and exciting opportunities for our students in PE class.
IB Support
Our PTA is proud to have been a vital partner in Sabin School's pursuit of International Baccalaureate (IB) accredidation. Since becoming an IB candidate in 2006, the Sabin School PTA provided much needed support ranging from volunteer efforts on review boards and IB committees, to financial support to aid Sabin School staff in accessing IB trainings and workshps. The Sabin School Auction Special Appeal in 2011 brought in over $15,000 for IB related professional development at Sabin.
